.................it feels like another 15 - 20hp has been added! Great. Might also help that I shimmed the cush drive too as there was some backlash (and my bike has done less than 12,000 miles). Revelation. Smooth power delivery.
Have reset the Acumen DG8 and the Speedo Healer too.
Out of interest, with this set-up of 43 tooth rear and std front the speedo reading of 90mph (closed test track etc of course!) is an actual sat nav 80mph. The Speedo Healer has sorted that error out perfectly.

this was going to be one of my future questions.. whats the stock tooth count back n front and is it ok to alter the tooth count to increase acceleration with out affecting the engine..
have done it on most my previous bikes with no down sides just big smiles and giggles.
my hornet i did front and back,, lost a lot of top speed but bugger me with a bag of door handles its was quick...

It is the std issue for the Hornet!!!!!!!!!

The std front sprocket is a 16t. Changing for a 15t gives added chain wear IMHO and also means the wheel has to be adjusted right back so even with a good chain it goes into the 'worn out' area!! It does help as I had this on a previous VTR, but prefer this 43t rear addition.

I had an online 5 quid off voucher (from a previous purchase of flush indicators) so basically got the postage for free. Result!!!

cant you just remove a link from the chain to sort out the adjusters..

but i dont really intend on doing to much to make it faster tbh...
have had my days of doing what i can to make it wheely like crazy...
used to get through chains, sprockets n rear tyres and from what i have learnt so far about my first Vtwin is most my money is gonna go on Fuel n rear tyres any way so think best left as it is..

but its on my list of maybe to do's in the future...

aaa nice so you gone 2 up on the back and 1 down on the front..

as much as i say im not going to do this to mine any time soon,,, i can feel that little devil on my left shoulder already filling out the order form for these...
at the moment cause im new to this bike and bike type, i have respect for it.. as im still learning how she moves and likes to be touched...
but like any relationship when you learn what she likes and can treat her well you start to look for things to spice up your relationship.....

so no doubt i will be following suit in the months to come..

i upgrade mine just on the back to a 43 and even that made a world of difference. Once i get some cash together and get it serviced she should be running even better.

It's the cheapest and best mod I've done so far

You misunderstand. I had a previous VTR that came with the 15t front already fitted.

This present bike now has the 43t rear only (was running it as std before!).

one down on the front, two on the rear is brilliant! if you really want some fun try fitting a 44 or 45 of course keeping the front wheel on the deck might be a bit of a mission....
