Bikesafe
Just wondering if any one has done a bike safe course recently and were at
Just asking because I’ve been trying to get on one locally ish for a year or so Lancashire don’t run one
Did have me self booked in on one in my home town of barrow but it was cancelled at the last minute and after emailing the main police office at Carlisle I’ve never got a reply back to say if there running any more in south Cumbria
It seems as if there not running them any more or just trying to faze them out quietly

) at Lancs County Council. I will be doing the assesment ride in a couple of weeks time! The assesment is free...the training ranges from £55 to £200-sh
Warby,

Hmmm...didnt think of the Insurance saving bit. However, the Lancashire County Council course can end up with a Diamond Advanced Riding qualification, which would also qualify (I think).warby221 wrote:Would be well up for that m8 Mrs has said I can have a track training day for my b/day this year and the months right just need to have the coin for it saved up first b4 booking![]()

The idea of the bike safe bit is it gets you about 5% of your insurance and it was only £60 ish to do
Re the Haslam school...there were 9 places left for the 1st July event, so if you are up for it then raid the piggy bank

if you REALLY want good instruction find whoever is teaching the rozzers in your area and goto them! A couple of my mates instruct police bikers and dont seem to rate the bikesafe course too high...then again i guess it depends what sort of rider you are and how confident you are..

Hiya matey,
When I was down at bike show was talking to one of the guys on the bikesafe stand - on that day they were mainly from SW Manchester / Cheshire, cos he was on about covering Cat & Fiddle etc.
Not sure which force this will come under though.
Seemed to me that they must run a few courses in that neck o the woods as he was on about it for ages.
Try these:
Cheshire Bikesafe
Derbyshire Bikesafe
Manchester (greater or otherwise)? - nope!

North Yorkshire seem to be well geared up for it - lots of info and dates of this years sessions

Fair point dude, if you learn just one point it was worth it!warby221 wrote:sorry Squiffy i work for a training school part time m8 and have taught a fair few plod its the insurance discount im after and theres always some thing you can learn
To play the devils advocate surely it depends how much insurance your paying? My yearly premium is less than the cost of the course!
