fuel gauge sensor

Post by Ernie Cooley »

Folks

After having the tank blown out, the fuel gauge sensor does not appear to be working.

Any ideas where to get one? Is it a big job or is it a new tank afterall?

First task would be to remove it and have a look
After all it is just a float on a stick with a variable resistor at the end

Take it off, stick a multimeter across the terminals and verify they resistance changes as you move it

Its more than likely that its got bent when being worked on ad now doesnt correspond properly to fuel level
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!
