Has anybody ever used panniers on there Storm, i was wondering if they were ok/do not intefere with the pillion,do not move around etc.
I was looking at Oxford 1st time ones.
Also the little grommet thingys that hold your tail unit on,are they easy to get hold off.
Thanks in advance.
The only problem would be that teh seat unit sticks out quite a bit and isnt really flay so the panniers are resting on only a little bit
However, if you apply plenty of gaffer tape beforehand they wont mark
And some of that wonderweb stuff under them will stop them slipping about
Best thing to do is ride down to the shop with the Mrs on the back and try them out for size.
Nothing will ruin your holiday faster than the other half moaning coz the straps are digging in her elbow and she cant reach the pegs coz the panniers are in the way
I've got an inferiority complex But its not a very good one!
i got a set of throw overs from tesco.com they cost £40 and they do the job not to waterproof but a trip in the washing machine with wash in waterproofer did the trick
i have just been away using my new panniers, worked well stayed dry and held all we needed. Throw over soft panniers dont get in the way of the pillion. Word of warning mount them high as poss, mine sagged and ended up sitting on the exhausts. Therefore i now have a hole melted in the bottom of both and a few burned shirts.
I've used soft and hard on the Storm. I agree with what's been said, but also a bootlace tied to the rings on the panniers and taken under the seat/subframe, stops them flapping about.
Thanks Guys
i think the oxford sports ones look like they are not so deep to miss the cans a trip to the bike shop wil do the trick, ido not need them until July for the Skerries.
