shock update

Post by warby221 »

Well got the wilbers shock the other day it’s now fitted
First impressions it looks the part quality looks good and everything machined to a nice standard you get the usual c spanner and rubber mounts for the remote tank that has the high and low speed adjusters first gripe the tank is mounted by s/steel jubilee clips and there’s no protection for the tank were they go round miner I know but you don’t want to be scratching it up as its new

The guy at http://www.everyaccessory.co.uk quoted about 3 weeks for delivery as there would be a bit of a rush on as Easter was the start of the race season got a call Tuesday to say it was here and he was sending it on
So not a bad quote on the delivery time
tip
I used the plastic bags the shock came in when fitting so as to not scratch every thing up when fitting then pulled the bag out of the bottom of the swing arm when it was fitted at the top

With the shock fitted

First run was only 20 or so miles
The shock is straight out of the box
On factory settings
Slightly under damped I give it 2 clicks of extra rebound
I think for me the preload is slightly hard for road use I suppose not unusual as it’s the race shock so will need backing of a bit
Haven’t changed the high or low speed damping as yet not enough miles to get a good impression yet
Riding there’s a marked improvement on the standard shock using the Maxton spring
Bike seems to track nicely round the bends and the steering is good as its +5mm on the length
I’ll update as I get the settings sorted
