Forks (again I know)

Post by robvtr »

Right,

My budget and disposeable income has changed, so where as I was going go blade front end I am now upgrading the forks with K-tec springs and fresh oil

When I take them apart do I wind the rebound back all the way to soft so as not to loose any damping efficiency (I ask this because on other bikes forks this is sometimes the case)

Cheers

I'd ask K-Tec,

i got mine done by MC Techniks and when i got them back the main adjuster was all the way out, i've left it that way for now untill i can get someone to set them up for sag etc with me on the bike, they seem fine all the same.

Hi Rob,

Iirc the Firestorm is better suited to Linear rather than Progressive aftermarket fork springs :!:

any one have a link for some cheap springs as I'm doing my seals next week.

Also why not progressive springs. Is there a simple explanation?

Also had a look at that -opie oil site for fork oil and the castrol 10w was really cheap compared to the motul. Is this false economy or does it not matter?

Thats a link to the thread on opie oil and discounts.btw
