My 1998 firestorm has passed MOT without a problem the last 2 times but it failed recently because "headlight aim beam image kick up to the offside".
I was told that this was because it is non UK spec headlight. The bike is UK spec but I assumed a previous owner had changed the headlight. I have bought a used UK spec headlight on ebay but now on close inspection both are the same. How do I find out whether the headlight I bought is wrong or if I have been wrongly informed by the MOT garage? Hope someone can shine some light on this..........
Headlight LH or RH drive??
It should be easy enough to see if it dips left or right in the garage? Mine is a German spec headlight and last year the MOT station was going to fail it (the fact that it had passed elsewhere for the previous 6 is interesting
) but you can legally get round it by masking it with insulating tape like this

The insulating tape then mysteriously fell off on the way back from the MOT
Bit like the baffles do too

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
