Hi mate,

Glad you're liking the Microns :D

I have Micron race cans on too, although older stainless type, they sound awesome don't they? 8)

Have you had stage one and dyno done? Worth your while IMO with these cans.

As to how they sit, mine are same dunno if it's something to do wi' the cans or the link pipes or what but they've always been like that, even when me bro' put them on the Storm from new.

it sounds amazing... so much better than i could have hoped for... and its the first time i have put race cans on a bike and noticed a change in the bikes throttle response. took it for a blat down the dual track and string of roundabouts near where i live and was instantly amazed at how much smoother it pulled.
and nope not had any tuning done to it,,, but its on the cards.. :D

n these carbon ones only cost me £135 dropped lucky on them big time.

Good buy mate - bargain.

The standard pipes choke a lot of the life (read performance) out of the Storm, even a set of good 'road legal' aftermarket cans improve them.

Perhaps this was intentional?

Mine was jetted & dyno'd at Hobb Sport Racing not far away from me in W Yorks.
Dunno how much it was, our kid had it done years ago.
Found the printouts other day, has much smoother power delivery and 109 BHP!

not only do they choke the hell outa it they weigh it down.. couldnt get over how heavy the 2 cans were.. both these carbon cans together weigh less than one of the OE ones..

the tuning is not on the top of the list to get done but its there..
n thankfully cause my pops is a sales rep for fowlers im hoping he can pull a few strings for me as usual and get it done on the cheap..:D

he has just ordered me the bits to do the CCTs and its a joke at trade price..

Looking Good Chuxsta! :D
I'm pretty sure the bike hasn't had a tumble. Getting the pipes to look even on some can be a right pain in the A$$. You will need to start by loosening all the joints right back to the headers and then give it all a good twist. Even then you might not get it exactly right. I just kept going until my patience ran out on mine and then decided it was close enough.

Looks good! Put the bike on a paddock stand, loosen all the exhaust joints then prop up the ends of the cans level using a plank of wood. Tighten joints and you're good to go.

When I rode my new aquisition home I noticed a "rrrr rrrr rrrr" noise, not loud but noticeable. Turns out it was the old (knackered) chain sawing it's way through the LH link pipe. Think I got away with it but there aint much clearance even now with the new chain. Getting those pipes in the right place can be tricky.

Yup,same with mine (2 sets, first were round microns similar to yours, sold them & fitted a set of Beowulfs with their own linkspipes) & had thesame thing ,R/H pipe seems to run out about half an inch or so.Pretty sure mine hasn't been down the road.
As Pete suggests loosen everything tighten back up & get it as close as you can, forget about it & enjoy the sound & ride
Cheers

Bike is looking good Chuxsta :!: 8) 8)

You say about how you noticed a difference in throttle response with your Microns now fitted.

I found I noticed a huge difference when I use to have to re-fit my original silencers for the mot :!: I could hardly believe how much they stiffle the engine, after my race can's :!: I couldn't wait to get them back on :D

I got them and their wonky too!

The baffle on the right hand one is missing too so it's probably even louder!!

Used to be embarrassed about the noise but as you said ain't nobody stepping out in front of you now!

Does anyone know if the missing baffle is bad for the bike?

Dunno if its a bad thing to have 1 baffle in or both?

My mates just popped round on his newly aquired TRX850 and that has one drilled out and one in

I had a quick blast and it didnt seem to effect the bike. It does sound a little weezy though in the state its in...

He's looking at sticking some Carbon Can Co zorts on it asap though so it shouldnt prove a problem!

Chuxsta, good work on the microns. Couldnt believe the diffrence when I fitted fruiter numbers to my VTR.

Agree with FSM. It should be the law!!!

Lol!

I think he's happy as larry atm.

It is a nice bike tbh. Spanish import, red & black, all standard (apart from the silly drilled can...) and 25000 on the clock. R reg bike. £850 8O

His mate works at a dealer/garage in Wolves. They were going to put in in the showroom for £1200 so he's got a great deal. It rides lovely. Reminds me of my old Fazer 600, but with a twin lump

Suspensions a bit soggy, but apart from that its a super little bike.

Looking forward to having a decent crack on it over the weekend! :D
