I've ridden one of those too, although it was a blue and white model.
Quite some bike and as you said Mike is does not feel like it's a heavy bike. It must have a low center of gravity as it's very easy to maneuver when going slow, which you wouldn't expect from such a beast.
I felt it to be a modern day Suzuki GS1000 (as I use to own before the Firestorm) with a bigger engine, but not for me. Now I have the protection from the wind with a fairing, unlike my old GSThou, I realise how much I'd miss that
Chris.

I think they're a great looking bike. I love the 80's retro look and modern suspension and brakes must make them so much better than what they were. If I was after something for comfort and fun I'd probably go for something along those lines......Only problem is.....I'm not old enough yet!

Think you're right with the GSX14 Mike,
Mate of mine at work has one and does shed loads of comfortable rides on it.
Does, bike rallies about one a fortnight and used to commute the other weekend to see his woman in Glasgow!
Now she lives with him down here, they're 2-up everywhere!
Mind he does like his big bikes, did have a CBX at one time, and was member of FWE Club (F*cking Wide Engine Club), sadly demised now.

Hel yeah - good bike!
I bought an XJR 1300 when my mate bought the brand new GSX 1400. I went down to have a look at it with him and decided to try the yam for a spin over the mountain with him. Traded in my NTV 650 (first bike) that day!
Very similar - the GSX has more beans and all that but I really enjoyed my yam. These bikes are sweet!
TBH the only reason I got the storm was that I love bike racing and as my confidence grew I started to wear front tyres for fun. So missing the V twin and needing to feed my rossi fantasies (er not like that
) I got my storm.

I am currently looking at an XJR to live alongside an off roader (if the Storm goes to Zipper) ......I love the look of the GSX and XJR.
I see myself as a sensitive intelligent man but with the heart of a clown that causes me to **ck things up right at that crucial moment........'Jim Morrison'
