AGV helmets
Is anyone using an AGV Ti Tech helmet that has come from using an Arai? I was just wondering on how the sizes stack up against each other, I usually wear an Arai small but have also got an Arai in extra small that I can comfortably wear too. The sizes of both the AGV and Arai xs is the same at 53/54 but am interested to know of any real world experiences people have had, many thanks

i have the AGV S-4 lid,,, medium.. the small was painful tight and the medium is a dead fit.. prefer a tight fit from new as they loosen up over tmie.
not sure if the other avg ranges will follow suit in sizing..
it can make a difference if the ranges actually change the shell size to suit as some just change the insides to make the sizes.
best bet is to get down a well stocked store n try em on..
as much as i love arai lids my head is the wrong shape for them,
sharks fit like a dream but i cant get my glasses on with them.
its a horses for courses thing like so many other things in the bike world.

Hi mate,
I have Ti-Tech & GP-Pro AGVs sizes same (but not in the pictures
)

Wife has V-flyer and Ti-Tech, few mates also have Ti-Tech.

As far as I know they only make 2 shell sizes, the rest is down to the insides.
The beauty of the Ti-Tech is that your LBS should also carry adjustment kits for them
They should stock or be able to order, Ti-Tech fitting kits with various pads in to enable thinning down or padding out within the helmet as obviously not everyones head is the same shape. They can increase / decrease both the crown, the sides and the cheek pieces as far as I'm aware.
The other kit is to make minor adjustments on all AGV range, to the fit of your visor, if it's gappy at one side or top or bottom etc.
I only know this cos my mate owns a motor factors and also has little bike accessories shop in which he stocks AGV lids.
The wife needed XXS lid but the one she wanted only cam in XS upwards so he did a re-fit of the pads for her. By strange coincidence, he's a 'pin head' too!
Only problem I had with my M-L was that the forehead was a little tight when new but bedded in nicely now. Will probably get some replacement cheek pads for it soon though as they're a little slack now after 3 years constant use.
I know it's a pain, but best bet is to do as Chuxsta suggests and go try some on. Find one that's a good tight fit and, this is the shite bit, wear it for an hour or so in the shop to make sure you're happy with it.
You'll look a pillock, and it's best to do it when the weather is cool, but you should only have to do it once, then you know exactly what size you need in future, and if any re-adjustments are needed before you buy it. That is, unless your LBS is happy for you to return for re-adjustments after purchase.
