on one wheel,

Post by chuxsta »

now i have relaxed onthe storm and settled in and know my way around it and have a good feel of what the bike is telling me in certain situations im relaxed in getting the wheel up in the air now..

im only used to 4pots and as the storms power delivery is different im asking any fellow wheely lovers what they do different on a vtwin when it comes to play time....

have messed about with second gear giving it a handful and pulling the clutch and dropping it again..

but was just curious if there is other approaches to take on a vtwin.
after watching one of the fast bike vids when the guy is picking the front wheel up all the time and what appears to be at high speeds..

can you do the clutch bliping in higher gears as well with the same effect?

p.s.
i shall be experimenting myself when i get teh chance im in the last 30mins of my 13 hour shift at work and loosing the will to live so im trying to pass the time here...

FirestormMike wrote:Is that the video where he's out with a ducati, but crashes the VTR ? Ive seen it and tried to get the wheel up at speed, the only success I can get is if theres a large bump or hump backed bridge, even then the brown trouser angle indicator kicks in and I shut off 8O
yeah thats the one...
its a class bit of hooliganism...
on the back wheel in-between traffic..

i could be wrong but he must have been in 3rd gear on some of the wheelies.. maybe even 4th...
and the wheel came up effortlessly every time..

Just a thought....what kind of speed are you doing at 5000 revs in second?
I cant see a storm being able to clutch up in third with only 100 or so horse power.
Yes she comes up sweet in second but in third I can only get a bar wobble

Well from 50 mph through the rev range I can imagine that at the top of second you would be doing around 70.
That's pretty fast on one wheel.
