factory pro ignition advance
Hey guys
What do you guys think about this factory pro ignition advance kit. Im going to be putting on a TBR full exhaust with a stage one kit and K&N. Is this a good combination or does anyone have any other suggestions. Check out the link http://www.factorypro.com/Prod_Pages/prodh77.html
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Jeremy

The advancer replaces the standard stator (or whatever it's called) on the crank shaft which is accessible only by removing the righthand engine case. The right hand engine case has the water pump built into it. When the case is removed then it exposes the return (I think it's the return - yeah it is, i think) side of the cooling system from the bores. If you don't drain it down first then just as you crack it off you'll have an engine/gearbox that's water cooled, good idea but not nice.
Hopefully you would realize this as the case would not come off before you disconnected the right radiator.
Del.

Sorry Del
I was being thick(Wife say, I,m good at it)
I thought you ment the level of coolant in the radiator needed to be reduced after fitting the advancer and I didn't understand why.
Guess it doesn't pay to think too hard sometimes.
I was trying to workout if changing the timing by a few degrees would make much difference to the heat dissapated into the rest of the engine.Doh
Don't worry I take a pill and go back to sleep.
