MIG High Level cans on my storm,

Post by Taz69 »

Hi all,

I am fitting a pair of MIG High Level cans to my storm, just wondering if you have to keep the rear foot peg bracket or no, has anyone else fitted cans without the bracket or made a bracket to fit etc.

Thanks in advance

MIG's need the footrests to bolt to. They should come with spacers.

Hi Kitch

I did not get the kit when I brought the cans, so I need to make some spacers, the gap appears to be about 65mm for the footrests, so looks like I need some threaded bar and a spacer of some sort.

Thats about right IIRC.

I used a stack of washers and som elong coach bolts to fit mine - worked fine, though some ally tubing would be better if you have better tools than a hacksaw.

Few points - keep an eye on condition. They're very slim and have big V Twin pulses going through them. Means the packing and gubbins get a harder time.

Also, watch them for getting hot (another side effect of shot packing) as they sit very very close to the tail and will melt your indicators / bodywork if they are allowed to deteriorate or aren't in tip top nick to start with.

Lovely cans though. Best looking ones there is IMO and the link pipes are top quality.
