Cush drive in rear hub. Some pictures of one shimmed.

Post by LotusSevenMan »

This is how I did mine.
An icecream container lid cut into five rectangular shims (see pic 1). The nut is the left side rear axle bolt used for size comparison with one of the five cush drive segments.

This picture shows a shim fitted against thye wheel web with the cush drive rubber about to fit alonside it.

Next shows a close-up of a shim in place.

First picture here shows shims made from icecream container lid with the axle nut as reference size wise and a cush drive segment pair.

Picture shows shim in place.

Picture shows a closeup of shim and cush drive rubber segment.

Image
Picture shows the hub all ready for sprocket carrier to fit back in nice 'n' snug which eliminates drive chain snatch and gives a much sweeter gearchange!!!

The Wemoto cush drive rubbers look to be a bit pricey compared with those at Dave Silvers, although DS will add vat, P&P.

Here's the link, just in case:

David Silver VTR CD rubbers

IMO shop around, ALWAYS 8)
Don't want to pee on Genesis' parade either, but again, as above, Wemoto appear not to have the better price.
