Gasket problem on Exhaust, please help

Post by Taz69 »

Hi all,

Having fitted my MIG High Level cans I now find that the gasket is shot on the rear downpipe to the link pipe, are they readliy available anyone know what I need to ask for at Honda ?

Thanks

Yep should be able to order one through Honda easily enough. My local had them in stock.

Sure there wasnt an old gasket already in there? Just all blackened and moulded into shape? And probably stuck hard onto the headers!

Hi Guys, sorry for the late reply, didnt get an email, lol

Anyway the old gasket was shot, the clamp had broke aswell so down to Fowlers today and picked up a new gasket, cleaned up the joints and collector pipe refitted all ok, then proceeded onto to remounting the MIG High Level cans which was what I was doing first of all, lol

Thanks for the help

The joins from the migs to the collector pipes are a slip joint as mike says, its from the collector to the down pipe at the rear cylinder that has the gasket, pretty much the same as my original cans had.
