Underseat Hooks, are they needed ??

Post by Taz69 »

Hi all, I have read somewhere that the hooks under the seat are not really needed and if you remove them its easier to get the seat on and off, is this True ?

Its the ones that are by the centre strap where the seat cowl fits.

Thanks in advance

I personally don't find them a problem after some fine adjusting :!: I also greased the lock catch and hooks which helped :!:

Thanks Chris and Mike for the replies, what I was worried about first of all was if they were there for some supporting of the rear part of the seat but closer inspection it appears they are not, I don't intend to carry pillions anyway, this is my bike my space, lol

I found that the easiest thing to do was just cut the second hook off which makes it a doddle to get the seat off but it is still solid when locked down
