Pillion seat too short, rider seat too long

Post by Big D »

Hi.
Collected my Firestorm 2003 plate on Saturday morning, 10am.
What an awesome machine!
I took my best friend and RD250 buddy pillion.
I wondered why he wasnt close up on my back.
When we got off he explained that because of the large seat cutout for me the rider, and his small seat he could not get close up without his elbow falling in the gap.
Anyone any suggestions?
Do Honda make a seat for a smaller elbow, so pillion can have longer seat?
Cheers,
Big D, (South East)

I don't think Honda make different seats for the Storm, but I sure it would be possible to have any seat reshaped to your requirements if you don't mind paying for it by someone who specialises in seat alterations :!:

You could try riding the bike with your rear end back further, or get one of those anti-slip covers for the pillion :!:

i have not taken any one pillion yet but this you speak of was in the back of my mind...

im only a little thing, and my comfy relaxed position on the seat is very close to the tank,, i could probably sit 3 people behind me, 2 on the front part 1 on the pillion part...

You and me both chuxsta. I essentially make love to the tank as we are going along, man and machine in perfect harmony!

Cheers Tiggerii thats just the job.

Probably down to your size / riding position?

Try putting some rear sets on. :P

Don't have the prob with wife or mate on back. 8)

Cheapest option is .... fit seat cowl and don't take a pillion

Not half as nervous as havin 10" of fresh air and thinking "I hope e dont over squeeze it". :)

Rear sets good idea. Ta.

Dont have pillion, they are all scared, dont know why - the bikes incredibly easy to ride with so much low speed grunt. It only does what i tell it.

I might get a Bonnie for cuddle rides with anyone who will jump on (girls with real front bottoms are preferred)

Cheers,
