Anyone else find there is a "knock" noise and feeling from the bars when pulling on the front brake under load?
Is it coming from the forks? changed the calipers, to see if it would stop, but its still there..
Im sure i saw someone post that they were suffering from something similar.

Oh but if it were only that simple mate.
It's not too bad a job, can do it on your own, but better with 2 of you.
Clip-ons & top yoke need to come off to get at the steering head bearing adjuster and lock nut.
Should be in service manual which you can find here:

I'm sure Al's probably right in being able to do it this way - never tried it myself. However, there are actually 2 castlated nuts and a locking tab washer. Not so sure it's advisabe to knock all round together, but like I said, never tried it.alan wrote:just undo top yoke nut, if you look below the yoke you will see a castelated washer/nut type get a screwdriver and tap it round slightly to nip it up dont over do it though, tighten top yoke nut go for a test see if it stops if it doesnt cure with adjustment then maybe the bearings need changing.
The Haynes manual (which is crap for CCT's) is OK with this bit though.

I do it without removing the tank and fairing myself, but do find that the front brake lever needs to be un-fastened from clip-on to allow clip-on to be removed.
I also don't bother with making sure reservoirs are held level, just make sure caps are secure and drape an old sheet or blanket over tank and fairing sides to protect them from scratches.
Oh, and correct torques are:
Top yoke fork clamp bolts - 23nM (17 lbf feet)
Steering head bearing adjuster nut - 25nM (18.4 lbf feet)
Steering stem nut - 103nM (76 lbf feet)
Clip-on clamp nut / bolt - 27nM (19.9 lbf feet)
