Hi Beamish.
That depends on what you want doing to them.

Mine was standard, I simply gave them a good scotch bright , applied a coat of self etch primer and put colour straight over the top. :D
I would say you are looking around the 60 squid mark for each wheel. Like I said, depends on state there in and what you want doing with them.

Nasty, some one has not been very clever doing that.

You could try using a cheap standard thinner to remove it. This will fetch the black of and take it back to the original finish.

Then you could have some one look at them and price accordingly.

I left the tyres on when I did mine. used fine line tape around the small lip , this left it silver while the wheels were painted yellow. That way when I have new tyres fitted ,no grease monkey is gonna chip the paint work.

£60 a wheel 8O 8O i can get wheels powder coated for alot less than that
surely painting a wheel is a cheeper alternative to powder coat i would of thought so anyway and not as hard wearing

£60 a pair for powder coating in black, had mine done over the winter.
OK add onto that ...wheel bearings, maybe they need changing anyway?
& unless you can need new tyres too then around £10 a wheel for removeal & refitting & balancing.
Not trying to knock the origional post,i know how much preparation goes into spraying,& that takes time, time is money.
Cheers

You gotta remember beamish, you dont have standard wheels. They have been mesed wid and will require extra work to bring back to standard before you can even consider to start painting them.

What you could try is find a car ( sorry for my swearing ) wheel refurbisher and see what they would charge to have them sand blasted (using fine sand )and then paint them black for you.

FirestormMike wrote:If you're changing bearings, the method I used was nitromors. Covered the wheel in the stuff, jetwashed it all off and it left a virtually paint free wheel, just needed a going over with a brillo to get the rest off. Then dry off, polish or paint and replace bearings.
Nice one Mike, good gen, Ive just changed both rear wheel bearings so it will have to wait until the winter now.
