Hi Folks
Am loving this Firestorm site BTW... some excellent info on here & some very friendly & helpful people!
Now, i'm looking at getting my forks rebuilt & getting the shock spacer fitted.
Firstly, I was wondering if it is advisable to do the forks before the shock spacer, as I have read that the extra weight on the front from the shock spacer can lead to adverse high speed handling issues due to the naturally soft front end.
Also, regarding the fork rebuild... I know many people on here recommend the Roger treatment. However I'm in London & am not sure i'm confident enough to take the forks off myself & send them to him. So is there anywhere down south that folk could recommend. I have heard that Setup in Wandsworth are good http://www.setupengineering.co.uk - can anyone verify this?
Thanks in advance for your replies!
cheers
John
Forks & Shock Spacer
Why not try just dropping the yokes 5-8mm and adding more preload and compression damping first?
I have dropped the yokes and have never bothered with the shock spacer idea.
The forks do need reworking, but it isn't hard to remove them. Get a Haynes manual and away you go.

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
