Haynes manual cct replacement
When you look at the haynes manual, regarding cct replacement,it mentions nothing about removing the valve covers,or lining up the marks on the cam sprockets, but a link on here suggests at least removing one cover to line everything up.RT RE marks etc.Do you think i can sue Haynes when it all goes wrong!!

Mate you would be v lucky if you just popped one out then put a new one in without following the timing advice
Good luck mate hope it works out ok.

As Beamish said, if you've changed a CCT without setting up the valve timing first you are one very lucky guy
With that amount of luck I'd go and do a lottery ticket
I've only ever heard of one other guy, lucky enough to get away with that on this forum
My advice is to follow the instruction in this link next time:-

Must have got away with it,have put a couple of hundred miles on it since.I am going to do the front one soon as i can hear a ticking noise coming from the front left.It doesnt do it all the time, but will do it as per the link next time. Was wondering how many people might have managed to replace the tensioner without putting the metal cap on the business end,it seems mad that the part comes without a fresh one, once again there is no mention of it in the haynes....barstewards!!
