Test riding the dark side....

Post by bikermike1411 »

OK.....

My mate rocked up the other day on a Harley XR1200 he'd blagged a test ride on. He has an R1, but this thing blew him away (and the 3 GSXRs he passed going up the cat n' fiddle!). When he took it back I went with him, and got caught looking closely at Buell 1200 Lightning. The salesguy said something about sitting down for a chat... I said I couldn't or I'd end up blagging a test ride.... he said "what about next Sunday? Three hours OK?"

WHAT? What happened to the negotiating and skillfull bartering? He practically gave me the keys there and then!

What if I like it? How can I explain to the missus that the wedding might have to be postponed? Still, the prospect of three hours on one is intriguing....
Perseverance takes too long....

Got a XB9S Lightning about a month ago. Test rode both the 12R and 12S. Bought the 9 as it came up at the right money.

I think you'll really like it. The storm has the legs in a straight line dash but you've already hit the nail on the head-bends & handling 8), oh, the torque is great fun too. Makes it totally differently to jap V2's. I love mine.

Take it for a ride and see what you think. Its defo a marmite bike :D
