but after a ride out on her i found 2rather worrying things...
the first has been there since i bought the bike but i thought the powdery marks were from a rubber breather pipe chaffing some where. but after closer inspection in some better light i noticed this!!!!

although from this pic you cant see but its the engine mount bolt that is next to the coolant bottle on the right hand side. the bolt that dosent go all the way through to the other side.
then... when i got to work the other day this bolt below.. the one the exact opposite side to the one i just mentioned.

had worked its way loose when i got to work...
i managed to get it in finger tight till i got home only to find out that who ever put it back in originally had stripped all the thread inside.
so now i have one side cracked and this side with no thread..
just how important are these mounting points?
i know they wouldnt be there in the first place if they did nothing...
but as there are 2 main engine mounting bolts running the full width of the engine either side of these points is the bike safe with what i have just mentioned?
