mike my point is..the tl is as good as an sp in every way..but doesnt cost the same...nowt wrong with sp's imho..but people seem to discount tl's..and there a cracking bike, slated by some stupid road tester(who couldnt ride) back in 1997  they got the name WIDOWMAKER' cos all the testers binned em....never had a moments bother with mine :D and at times i spanked its butt

nowt wrong with a bit of slanted nostalgia Lee, just add "IMO" for a little realism

Really? Have you ridden both? Will soon be in the market for a Sports twin again and the TL1000R has always made me smile. Lets face they are both pretty ugly?

yes dean..mine was smooth at 170 as at 100...just usual mods , and yes ive rode both..found tl more day to day comfort..sp's do look better than tl's i agree....but it aint all about looks is it...mellis im sure you wouldnt be disapointed in a tl m8...

mike mine was full power model with 125 bhp..all tls late 98 on were restricted ..and top speed was tested aplenty side by side with a m8's busa...saw 180 on clocks loads(private roads of course)....but im sure this isnt a sp/tl debate..your happy thats all that matters dude..and this is a firestorm forum lmao. just off to polish me CHROME 8)

I nearly bought a TL before the 'Storm but found the knee/tank cutouts were all wrong for someone of my height (6' 2").

Wow thats sorted then both fast as fook

SP looks the mutts nuts TL looks like mutts nutts after a road traffic accident (IMO only), putting nostalgia and pride aside lets just meet up in Sept and have a good laugh about it. No 'lets go out on the cat and prove it' type shi*e as that leads to death or worse
