i've had it done on mine, Â£100, a wheel, got it done by a company called Chameleon in Renfrew just outside glasgow, there was another place on the south coast did it but i can't remember thier name, if you do a t'internet search you should find them, search for things like cromax and powder coaters and you should find them,.
the powder is special and took a week or two to deliver from thier supplier, they only order what they will need, something to do with it having a very short shelve life. i'll try and stick up a better pic later on

I remember you having them done although can't remember how long ago exactly

They certainly look very good IMHO

How is the finish holding up

Excellent, cheers Chris, they do look good dont they? That is exactly the finish i am looking for. Probably get swing arm and fork legs done too.

Going by the pic's Tim I thought they may have been polished at first. But as much as I like the look of polished wheels I wouldn't want the hassle of having to keep on top of it, especially with the poor weather we've had so far this year. So that finish Kev has, has to be well worth considering IMHO.

tim i ve had chrome finish done at lsn coatings castleford..cost me Â£40 per wheel about 4 yrs ago...take tyres off and bearings out and your good to go..as for forks, no they have to be fully stripped but i wouldnt advise having them powdercoated, as u will be forever changiong the fork seals..the blasting process leaves tiny partuclues inside even after religious cleaning...thus they nick the seals and wham....

Then get a long 10mm bolt and some large washers ideally just wide enough to cover the bearing apertures as you really don't want to be trying to scrape it out o' there!

Another good tip, for the fronts, is to screw your disk mounting screws or bolts back in, with the addition of a small washer on each. That way, you get matching, powder coated screws. Did it with wor lass' Hornet wheels, worked a treat.

Â£25 per wheel in plain colours at CAS Coatings, Bradford - She went for Black. Flake and multiple colours extra. Not sure if they do a chrome coating or not.
