What's that bit under the headlight? and how do i....

Post by Lucky13 »

Hi all

Noobie questions. Don't worry though, I'll go look for a haynes manual at the weekend too :)

Just sourced my first Firestorm. Lovely bike in black - she's tatty but seems mechanically sound. So, Time for a tidy up.

Few of questions if I can pick the collective ORG brains.

1. Under the headlight there's a smallish square of fairing plastic that's cracked. Anyone know where I can lay my hands on another one, or what the part name/number is?

2. Anyone got a spare top yoke or some fork lowers lying around I can swap some cash for?

3. The front brake's not the best. Are they always a little dull or would a set of HH pads sharpen things up (it's running braided lines and honda pads at the moment)?

Cheers guys

Dont bother with Haynes, go to the top of the workshop section and there should be a link to the honda workshop manual. Much better.

ello lucky :)

if that's the part I think it is, then its the inner cowl/shroud and it actually goes all around the headlight - ebay / breaker best source.

Tis the centre connection piece to hold the 2 outter parts together. There are 2 small screws locating it on either side. However saying that, it,s also held in place by plastic intrelocking pegs. Thses arre not visiable from the outside . These have to be prised out .
Dam difficult when on bike as well. Maybe better off removing the whole thing to do it or yh could end up snapping some thing that yh dont want to.
