after market air filters?

Post by JohnD »

My air filter is due for renewal soon, & I was toying with the idea of getting an aftermarket one to replace it.... and perhaps get some power/torque gains?

Now I've heard that K&N sometimes don't work that well on 'storms... can anyone confirm this?

Also what about others such as pipercross or DNA etc?

Any info much appreciated!

cheers
John

Had no problems with my K&N, just have the carbs checked and re-balanced if need be.

My K&N filter works a treat = (102 standard) 105.1 bhp and fatter midrange - with a Dynojet* (E1185.001) kit and Micron open race cans plus rolling dyno time and ££ (basically a stage 1 tune)

* From the paperwork with the kit:

"For mildly tuned machines using the stock airbox, with stock or aftermarket filter. May also be used with a good aftermarket exhaust system. K&N filter."
