Brake discs - "how much!"
Brake discs - "how much!"
Well hello all, I am a newbie here but not to the world of bikes, I have had my VTR1000f for just under two years and have clocked-up over 30,000 miles going to and from work and I have gone through countless chains and tyres ;o)
What I need now though are a set of front brake disks as one has a slight buckle in it and they are both very worn.
My question is what is the best type of replacement ie EBC or wavey??? have you got any ideas about where to get a set from? I have been quoted £233 for a set of EBC's but I have been told to push the boat out and get some waveys as the are best????
What says you?

Essexbloke should reply soon with d details, I fitted (he bought the disks and pads) a pair of wavey discs on the front and a wavey disk on the rear for him. They feel really good, rode it a few times now but he can give your more info as he rides it most days, well when it's about 20 degrees and sunny

discs
Hi mate , just thought i would let you know that someone is selling wavey discs on ebay at the moment brand new, i think there are to sets available and he wants £200 for them, these are the braking ones as well !!!. i saw he had a set on a while ago and they did not sell. hope this is of help, cheers dodds.
.
I have Braking wavey discs on mine and they are superb, especially in conjunction with braided brake lines.
Bit on the expensive side but in my opinion worth every penny.
Expect to pay about £350.00 for a front set and about £80.00 for a rear.
Also, have a look at Galfer wavey discs as they are exactly the same but a little bit cheaper for some reason
Mail me if you would like any pics. Bananaman999@aol.com

Thanks all! I just bought a pair of waveys off ebay at around £100+ cheaper than if I was to go to a dealer direct! I saw a standard set of used brake discs sell for £95 on ebay and they had a claimed mileage of 7000 miles so this seems a very good deal! what a touch! still I now need to get a new set of double h's to go with them eh?
Thanks again

ps - sorry if my grammar is off - i have been drinking heavily for two days!!!! just love my beer and football!

must admit i hadnt heard that rhumour.....
i've done about 6-7k with them fitted so far, no probs as yet.
the only down side is that they are bugger to keep clean, (without slicing your fingers off) as water sits in the holes cut in them, causing them to rust if you dont get to them quick enough.....
As for the pads.....i dunno, thats what came with em, and del fitted them.........
Have got the details for Trade Direct, (manufacturer for Stealth Vipers) at home, i'll dig em out over the weekend, and post them on here after...
otherwise, they frequent bike shows, (BMF in particular) so you can order direct, and get a "Show Discount" to boot.......
