Probably not quite as messed up as you Jim
I love on road & off road bikes of all era's and from most nations.
I do draw the line at HDs & Cruisers - just don't like 'em, never have, never will. Also dislike most BMW's but the 'Long Way Round' types are growing on me.
Other than that, I'd ride just about anything, faired or un-faired and regardless of CC. I love the occasional blast on wor lass Aprilia RS125 - it's sooo nimble and easy to ride round twisties.
I do tend to lean towards bikes that have 'soul' however, ie Singles, Twins and Triples. That said, I have and will ride IL4's just prefer the others.
If I can draw enough brass together, I've currently got me eye on a BSA RGS (well, frame engine and front end) - Love old Brits, no matter what anyone says about them or the rep they rightly have.
If it wasn't for British bikes, there'd be no Japanese bikes - well not like they are now anyhoo. Look at a lot of the 'modern' inovations on Jap and Italian bikes, most of these ideas are not new at all and have already been used 50, 60, 70 years ago on British bikes - we are the true inovators - the Japs just know how to make 'em work better
To me a car is just a necessary evil to get from A to B, purely a workhorse. If I didn't have to carry dogs, double bases and diving gear about I'd certainly have to think seriously about having one.
Think you're slightly off with you history mate, wasn't it the SP1 that was the Duc beater, although I must admit I prefer the looks of the SP2 to the SP1 myself - but wouldn't kick a 1 outa bed!
Just my thrupence
