up and walking again

Post by mozza71 »

at last i can make it to the pc desk !!!!!
obviously i have been absent, all down to a lovely ford escort driver on the A6 yowards Stockport, exactly as the add on the TV goes, car....car....car....bus....car......shitttttttttttt!!!!!!!
how he did not see me is beyond me but thanks to Steppin Hill hospital i am out and about now (taken a while too)
So firstly.....Johnno i have pm'd you mate,
Secondly the storm survived (mainly due to my leg taking the impact, peg, gear lever, mirror, exhaust damaged, going to have to respray it again, or new fairings....have not decided yet.
Carol Nash awesome, new bike FOC to use as driver has accepted full respon, his insuranec have viewed bike, agreed sum and agreed clothing sum, personal injuries in about 4 months so all done and dusted.
should have cheque for bike and clothing next week.
not sure what to do with bike though, put it back on road (cat C) as it will cost bugger all, only needs peg and lever to ride, rest is cosmetic. or list it on ebay for repair. heart tells me to keep as low mileage and runs sweet. cant get a fairing anywhere so may have to repair this one.

well, good to be back, Johnno, sorry your discs got messed up. pm sent and sorted.
anyone else got a fairing for sale or exhausts let me know.
failing that i may just get rid for £700.

Bad news that is, but glad your OK.

Same happened to me some years back when I was out and about on my 125. I got a similar reply when I peeled myself off the road-cant believe he didnt see me at the time. Had a bright yellow jacket on at the time 8O

Ive got a pair of standard cans if you want em for cheap? Both in A1 nick-they might help you get the bike back together for the time being. Also have some clip ons.

PM me if your interested.

Think you arrived before my time on here, but glad you are better and able to ride again, chin up you. I'm sure some of the others will help out with parts going cheap.

Sounds painful but good to hear you're mobile - I had similar when a car drove into the side of me as I was tootling along - Amazingly it just shunted me across the road without me coming off - I just drove on and pulled over a tad shocked! Thanks to impact taken up by Sidi Verterbras* leg wasn't broken or ripped off but still smashed fairing, radiator and footpeg mount which cosmetically wrote it off.

Bought it off Insurance company and got side fairing from Dave Silvers for about IIRC £125 -and then other bits from breakers (before e-bay took off) so prices should be overall cheaper now. reMOT for insurance purposes and I was off again quids up.

yeah i have to re-MOT it which is a pain as it had 9 months left, but what the hell eh!
insurance have deducted £300 as ium keeping the bike, went on Silvers today but they are not listing the fairing panels so will ring to check if still available.
i could fill the dents in the tank and spray so should be cheap to get back on the road again.
all part of the fun, im laughing about it now, but past three months not been laughing much !

Hey Mozza,

thought you'd been a tad quiet of late 8O

Dave Silvers don't list everything they have - give them a call, if they ain't got 'em in they'll tell you when they're due or order 'em in.

Panels were £135 + Vat & delivery when I bought some in 05.

Get her back on the road mate

Fook Mozza! I'd no idea! you should have given me a buzz, I could have slipped over with some restorative stella for you! :D

I got paid out on my Blade a few years back - worst mistake I made was throwing the good cash at it putting it back to mint - I should have fightered it and sold it - i'd have been well up on that one! Slap some flat bars and a diddy light unit on it, paint it matt black and flog it as a straight fighter. Or put a huge rear sprocket on and become a stunt god! :D :D
Perseverance takes too long....
