Lidls motorbike/car charger for this winter?

Post by LotusSevenMan »

I have one of these from a previous offer a couple of years back. Works very well with plenty of lead length both from the mains cable and the battery connectors/corcodile clips.
It has both a bike and car variable charge rate function so dual useage and a trickle charge position too. :D

It looks a good one,if i didnt already have one i'd buy it :!:

The Bridging Unit looks handy at £5.99 ,..use instead of jump-leads i take it , cigarette lighter to cigarette lighter :!: Good long cable as well :!:

If thats how it works, i dont think ive seen one of those before :!:

BP.
I have always been a bit sceptacle of these cigarette lighter to cigarette lighter (or cigar to cigar if yer livin' in a posh area).
The contact area is fairly small within the plugs themselves and the leads are hardly jump lead dimensions; so ???

I think it's more of a case of plugging them in the respective cars and giving the car with a dead battery some life before disconnecting the lead and trying to start. There is no way a cars cigar lighter circuit would carry the required amps to start a car, if the cigar lighter circuit could take the current it would be wired with starter cable.

You could in theory charge the battery through the cigar lighter as long as it's not ignition switched as the current would be relatively low, so using the cigar lighter jumper lead would be ok, you would also need the other car to be running at charging speed or you'll just end up with two half charged batteries! I also wouldn't recommend it on newer cars as they have 'smart charge' systems that may well screw up with double the load drain.

It's hard to look cool carrying toilet roll.

I wouldn't dream of shopping at Lidls, but my chauffeur advises me that Harrods aren't selling such an item so he obtained one from 'this place' to keep the Rolls topped up while I was away using the Lear Jet abroad!!!

Yeah, yea, yeah!!!!! 8)

The Ducati would not accept voltage/current from such a low brand charger LSM
