We have thousands of these birds in Norfolk. They are the most stupid animal in existence. Nearly had a coming together a few years ago when I was making, ahem, "progress".

Nearly been nutted by pigeons a couple of times.

Condolences to the family of course.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Very sad :!:

My condolences to all concerned, RIP.

I had a near experience with a buzzard a couple years ago, but as luck would have it we never made contact. Too close for comfort for though 8O

A mate of mine many years on his bike had a pigeon smash into his visor. He thought the blood on his face was from the bird as his visor was totally shattered, but it turned out he'd actually got a broken nose from the impact.

A bloody shame :(

Loads of Buzzards and pheasants about here (very close to a shootin estate),but usually the pheasants are walking slowly across the road, almost tame.

Farm 1 mile down the road breeds the things, then rents the fields out to shoots. Thing is, they run loose all over the damn place. Used to think a pheasant's only purpose in life is fly in front of your (car/bike), preferably smashing a headlight in the process. Once turned into our works carpark with a dead one hanging out the radiator. Played a trick on another bloke who got one after he picked it up and chucked it in his boot to take home. Got someone to phone him up claiming to be the farmer and bollocking him for taking one of his birds! Anyway, they are stupid birds and I'm surprised accidents are not more common, I sure wouldn't like to hit one at speed on the bike.

Sorry for his family and friends.

I hit a duck doing 60+ on a VF750S (the duck was not riding the bike), It came out from my left hand side and turned and tried to out run the Honda, he hit me just below the knee and knocked my foot of the peg, but he came of worse (knocked the sh** out of him, literally) all down my leg.

Horrible tradgedy RIP mate, most of us will have had a close call with a dumb ass pheasant at some time.

Now dont get annoyed but I had to chuckle at this written below the picture of the bird
A large pheasant, which is similar in size to this, crashed into Mr Bottomley's helmet

This happened a couple of miles from me. Like they say...a freak accident.

Didnt stop Plod from having speed cameras all over the place for ages afterwards though. The implication was obvious......
