Looks like a very simple DIY conversion, using a couple of coach bolts:

Though obviously I have no knowledge of CCT as yet, would this be pretty easy to do?
Whilst looking for Manual CCT's on Ebay I found these

They are easy.
These are some I made and sold to this chap so he seemed pleased enough with them.
I suspect the 'oil leakage' problem was overtightening the locknut onto the 'o' ring fitted to seal the threads. Doesn't seem to have caused him a problem anyway.
See:-

The only difference being after I took this original picture I cut the bolts shorter (once I'd worked out the operating range on my VTR) and also drilled and pinned the nyloc nut on the top to provide a decent way to tighten/loosen the set-up.

Excellent, I was hoping they were the work of someone on here so I could ask about them.
Hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions as I'll be attempting to make a set of these later in the week:
Could you tell me the bolt length and size, I'm good friends with a nice old fashioned bolt place so getting the exact ones should be no problem (likewise if anyone needs some posting, let me know).
And (though this will probably be self explanitory when I dis assemble the original CCT's) do you need to tap a thread down the middle of the cct for the bolt?

Thanks for the faith Jim67
I suppose I could make a bob or too, but like Ratty will tell you I am happy to pass info on as:- a) I haven't the spare CCT bodies available for a start, but more importantly; b) I am happy that a fellow VTR owner gets a 'better' product at a knock down price from his own work.
I am still awaiting my call for the United Nations Ambassador of the Year award to motorcycling but I live in hope

Cost with two coach bolts, two std 17mm nuts, two nyloc nuts, 4 x 10mm washers and two 'O' rings (plus the brass rod to lock the nyloc) works out at about 3 quid a CCT. I already had the 3mm drill (for the brass rod), 8 mm drill, 10mm tap etc. In fact I had the washers and 'O' rings already so even cheaper.
Voila! LSM's 'Monkey' Manual CCT's !!!!
