I scored and degreased both surfaces and the used a hot melt glue gun, which sets pretty fast so you are not holding it for hrs. then fully filled the leading edge gap with silicon so nowater could get in and force the gap open.
Stayed on no props for 3yrs so far and that includes a few heavy wheelie landings that whip the mudguard to hit the tire!

Take photos before you take it all apart, make notes, refer to Haynes pics for reference, used a combination of these when I did mine & all seems to work ok now it's back together. Then its all alloy part polished, wheels to repaint, forks to repaint. Fairings off and through clean underneath. Check all connectors for signs of corrosion.
Check valve shims and manual CCTs. Adjust head bearings. Rebuild front master cylinder plus normal "service" jobs.
