I ran out of fuel on the way to the petrol station and had to push it about 100 meters.

Couldn't get it started again and needed to be towed home FFS!!

Battery is fooked. Karl (the guy I got it from) is paying for a new battery

As benny has already mentioned, the starter solenoids are prone to go on these. Lets see how we get on with the battery. Probably best to order an uprated one me thinks.

Total Mileage: 1 mile (it was a good mile mind) :)

Oh and I have it on video too.

Geo, thats a bit of a bugger....not the best 1st ride report you could imagine! but on the plus side at least you didnt crash it and sh1t yourself and then have to explain the smell and mess to the ambulance crew :)

lol - I tell you what, those Immodium instants work great.

Its not the battery. Just changed it for a brand new one and the same clickety click. Time for the uprated starter solenoid. :?

Might need some help with that one if it goes. I'll sure you'll love to spend the weekend down south at some point benny :P

I'll have a chat with Karl tomorrow about the solenoid. He said he would cover it and send one down. Just need to make sure he sends the right one :)

ok i got the amperage wrong on the solenoid lol!

interesting point on the brakes.... assuming theyre brembo calipers / master cylinders/...

keep on top of the maintenance on them and theyre excellent, but if you neglect them and allow the seals to fail youre fkt basically cos brembo dont sell seal kits.
you either have to send it to an authorised brembo dealer for an expensive rebuid or buy a new caliper / mc.

but as an alternative, you can get brembo seal kits from ktm dealers ;)

mate is in the same boat atm with his mille - managed to find him a brand new rear mc for £42

From memory, it does feel lighter. Hard to tell to be honest. After getting up at 4am and emptying your bowels through to 10am, the last thing you want to be doing is pushing a 1000cc v-twin up the road, even with all its carbon. lol

Mate I know how that feels and it can be so disheartening, I'm sure it will all get sorted soon and you will be on some longer runs.

Professional to the end with the filming. I like the way you thought about removing the camera and getting a shot of it just turning over at the end. Still thinking about the editing even with a broken down bike

Hehe. Cheers. I wish I had kept it running for when Green Flag turned up. Was very interesting loading it onto the truck. I'll remember next time :)

I'm going to go out and wheelie the f*&K out of the DRZ tomorrow just to make up for it, (on a private road of course)
