Cleaned and fitted standard carbs ,they need balancing so I'll do that tomorrow .
I also fitted my spare tank and ran it up to temp and all good so far .

my bike is the later model yellow, a lot brighter than the early model.
as far as I know, there's only two yellows, early model....1996 to 2002ish, then late model from 2002ish until 2006.
you can get some early model bikes that were late registered up until 2003 or even later. but again as far as I know there was only the two yellow colours, and yours is the early model.

had a very busy day with carl and mike, dodging the showers whilst working on mikes bike.
I think he's a very happy man....
new mcct's, changed petcock, as his had a big tear in it, found out his tank breather pipe was routed all wrong and was being pinched, so we re-routed it to the correctly, gave the bike a good once over, I gave mike some bar ends as one of his fell off the other day. I also used a bit of sales patter and sold mike some R1 mirrors and a brand new fender extender, we also rubbed down his forks as there was some minor pitting.
finally we gave it a little clean. and adjusted his suspension settings.
I think he has his eye on my freshly painted front forks......
great to see the lads, lots of tea and coffee, and some home made cake.....yum yum

To hear what I've done you'll have to read my tuono thread

Oil and filter change , removed bottom engine cowl, prepped for spraying (just finished undercoat layers, colour coats should be on before i leave tonight)
Fitted a tall velocity stack to the front carb
Polished front wheel again ( stripped horrible teal paint off during the week, should go a bit faster now !)

Fitted the std exhaust headers and cans ready for the track day.... Feckin hell it's quiet

And heavier now

A lot heavier !! Think I may need to add some preload to mine , it's like I've eaten tooooo many pies

Yes indeed AP forgets to mention his compulsive bike cleaning disorder getting the better of him too V pleased, and the suspension adjustments have made a big improvement on bumpy surfaces, noticeably much firmer on the front and I think a little softer at the back. I enjoyed tailing Carl back across London, my first ride with a fellow stormer! Only bad news being that when I got home I realised I've now got a significant oil leak . Carl sounded mortified when I called him lol. Not entirely sure yet, but possibly in the rush to beat the rain & with me needing to get back to see the kids, a cam cover may not be fully tightened. Not sure yet whether to leave it until there's another opportunity to take it for Carl to investigate or start investigating myself. If I do I'll inevitably end up needing him to come over & help out, but at least he'd have less dismantling to do. I'll have to sound him out on this... But all in all, stirling work chaps and a very educational not to mention enjoyable experience. I don't intend to use the bike until the leak's fixed (other than to get it to Carl!) but did give my 11 yr old daughter another go on the back which she loves. Unfortunately and somewhat inevitably, having been assured she was fine with it when I got my daughter a helmet, my ex now sounds on the verge of banning her from going on it Further jobs now on the list include check/grease linkage bearing, get after market indicators flashing at the right speed and sort out an intermitancy issue with one of them and get some high temp silicon sealant in the silencer pipe connection to cure a small leak. Oh, and put the bike on a dyno. Thanks again to a pair of diamond geezers!
