Sounds like one of the half-moon rubber sections of the cam cover gasket isn't seated correctly.
If so, it's likely to be one of the rear ones, exhaust side, as the frame hides them and wiggling the cam cover to seat it can dislodge one from its groove.

Just undo the four bolts and re-seat it.

If you lift the tank off you can see it easily enough.

Bloody rubber gaskets, sorry about that mate :( The rear is really simple to check Mike and now you know how simple it is to remove the tank. There's 4x 10mm bolts on the cam cover, make sure you put the little spacer/seal things under the bolts the right way around, they are marked top. Go easy when tightening the bolts back down and don't over-tighten as they can snap, so don't go using a 1/2 ratchet and socket or something. 10mm spanner is all that is needed. You can see the half moon bits Tony refers too at the sides. Sorry I can't make it over to you today to sort it out but as you know I'm off down to Sussex for a few days.

Get a proper LED flasher relay for those indi's. Here's a link to the silicone I use.

Seal that leak up and you will no longer have a bit of popping. You will also notice the bike will idle and run a little smoother too.

got my shock diled in with a run up to kielder.just had to back off the damping a tad to alow for the bumbs around here and is now much smoother control than standard .its amazing how much crud builds up under there over one season, cleaning and greasing linkages is definitely a yearly job on the storm even the swinging arm around the shock can build up quite a bit of heat from the exaust.no wonder the bearings dry out so fast.

Your a bit optimistic  didn't think you were allowed to use your own fuel? Thought it had to be what they supplied?

If not I'm Deffently getting my parents to come and they can bring a load in the car. There's several petrol stations within 5 miles of Mallory for people to fill up after traveling there.

Trouble is at Mallory for what I've seen you can't leave the middle once the day has started on the bike .
You can walk out but not ride unless I've missed something !

You can take your own fuel and make sure you fill up before getting there as there fuel is expensive

That's it then I'll borrow some Jerry cans from work and get my parents to bring them :P assuming a petrol station will let me fill them

The no limits web page says there is fuel available at the track, but I suspect it will be a bit more expensive than tescos.

I will fill up close by and bring a 10l can with me and then pay track prices
