i'm still learning bennyi'm getting better tho, heres the lastest bit of bodywork i've wrapped and laquered, i also removed and filled in the little side light, once the headlight protector is in place it will look wicked.....
Dont tell us you wrapped the light cover aswel
wrap it then cut a Round hole to one side ive seen this on a few looks mean
i've just got the other mirror to do and thats it, no more for awhile

Marty, much as you want to, and it'll seem like a good idea at the time, especially if the time is just after closing time, don't, please don't vinyl wrap your visor.
Not big, not clever.

hahaha cheeky sod, i was gonna do a strip along the top of the visor and put my name on one side and the misses on the otherside, thats what happens when you have lived near romford for 20yrs

Today was the day I was going to replace auto CCT's with Bazza's Manuals...
One minor problem... can't get the 32mm inspection cap off. Soft is an understatement...melted butter would have been harder than that cover. I only applied minimal force and the kin thing rounded off with bits of alloy falling to the workshop floor..argggggggggg.. so tried to shift it with a drift but still no joy. Lost my rag and called it a day. Will have another go tomorrow..
In the mean time I have ordered a new cover from D Silvers along with a new gasket in case I need to remove the casing.
Oh yes and I fitted new rear pads, swapped standard Reg / Rec for replacement part with cooling fins.Still to do are front pads, Chain and both front and rear sprockets, new air filter, plugs and last on the list are two new Tyres...

chain off, wheel out, sprockets off etc. Bloody good clean around the sidestand and front sprocket. Need to replace cush drive rubbers though
Fitted hugger, general clean of loads of crappy stuff. Putting exhaust studs and downpipes back on tomorrow

m8s was like this last weekend.
no biggy.
you have 2 options....both easy
you only need to remove the cap to turn the engine over with the 17mm nut.
you can either remove the gearbox sprocket cover (take off the clutch lever first) and turn the engine over with the sprocket bolt, or put it in high gear and turn the rear wheel, obviously with the sparkys removed.
only snag is you have to take off the front cam cover to be sure the engine is in the right position but its easy enough to do.
just a pain cos you have to remove the carbs, heatshield and drop the oil cooler.
adds about 2hrs to the job.
then the procedure is the same as in the guide,,,, set up the rear cyl so the timing mark thru the small cap reads RT and the cams face inwards towards each other with the RI & RE lines lining up with the head..... then turn anticlockwise 1 1/4 turns until the FT mark shows in the timing window for the 2nd time... with the front cams facing outwards away from each other and FI & FE lines in line with the head.
when the FT & RT marks are lined up correctly its safe to remove the old cct and fit the new ones.... regarding tension, just watch the chain until the manual cct just starts to take up the slack. then lock it up with threadlock on the thread.
it's also an idea to measure the valve clearance at this stage

HaHa...recently had the same issue with mine, I buggered it completely & gave up. On the day me & Bazza went to Brands for the 90's Superbikes, we popped into Tony Mons on the way home. 2 mins a club hammer & a small cold chisel later & it was off, & replaced with a new one that I just happened to have with me.
Now Tony has had a lot of practice at this but the trick is, if this comes across ok via this post, the chisel is quite small & sharp tap in to cut at about 3o/c on the edge of the cap, sort of bisecting the edge where it bevels(?). Once you have a nice groove cut, angle the chisel so that when you strike it you are hitting up & therefore counter clock wise a few sharp taps & it should come undone. When replacing use some silicone sealer & only nip it up so that next time you need it off it's not to tight.
Before any smart asses comment on why do you have to do it at 3o/c . Its 30/c as in a clock face i.e. 1/4 past.
If you want to do it at 3 o/c to ensure the planets are lined up correctly & your shakras al all groovy that's up to you.

I would have thought it easier to do it at 9 o'clock, so you are striking down on it.

well after much swearing I gave up and removed casing...good job too as previous work has been carried out and no gasket fitted just loads of sh1t..
Managed to remove inspection cap with casing flat on floor. much easier angle of atack so to speak..
So have now replaced cover all be it loose whilst I wait for new inspection cap and gasket to arrive from D Silvers.. on with the job of replacing CCT's...

Dragged the little Kawasaki KH125 out from under it's winter covers, charged the little 6V battery, pumped up the tyres, started 2nd kick
Warmed it up then took it for a 10 mile thrash to make sure every thing works, then will get it MOT'd next weekend.
You forget how much fun it is to ride a little bike where you go everywhere with the throttle fully open, redline every gear and crouch down to get the last 5mph out of it on a long straight

fitted a new starter motor to my speedfight.... its tiny lol, looks like a cordless drill motor!
wouldnt start though.... so i stripped the top to find the head gasket blown again.
and
bastid piston circlip has come out... fortunately no damage apart from a little ding on the piston crown - no sign of the clip inside the crankcase so looks like it mustve been blown out...
put it all back together after fitting another base gasket and made a new head gasket out of a caffreys can & started up ok
got a new cooling duct to go on it as the old one had bits missing - then i'll take it out for a quick test.
got another cct job to do in a bit

Fitted a second long stack, brembo pads on the front and cleaned and oiled the k and n. Runs much better and stops on a penny very happy man.
