Filled mine with water; again... can't be bothered looking to see if any is leaking out so shut the garage again.
But I now have a useable set of lowish-mileage crankcases, so a swap is on the list of jobs to do next week.
Yesterday I polished one link pipe and can, only one to go....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Gave the bike a good clean, and extended the side stand footlever (with plastic pipe and glue !!)
So as to stop my foot rubbing on the lower fairing when lower the stand !

Not done anything to my bike, not even ridden it. It's parked up collecting cobwebs.

Ah Ha Lloydie!

Feeling the lard so to speak.

I remember years ago after having owned a pristine TrX850 I went on a nostalgia trip and bought a 95 Foxeye FZR1000 as I'd owned a 92 FZR100 with upside down forks and had fond memories .

After a diet of the 270* degree syncopated sound the IL4 didn't do it for me anymore.

I hope that you get great use out of the Bird and use a VTR for recreational use only.

Show us what you do to the Bird as I am curious to see how it evolves.

After 2 weeks with the FZR I knew that I preferred a V Twin even though I undertook many mods and tweaks to the FZR. I enjoyed riding it, although it lacked character it went like stink, did everything good, just didn't feel connected.

I had a couple of bikes in between and then bought the VTR on a whim. Went overseas for a while and when I returned that is when the OCMD took hold.

Three years later and with a few stablemates in the Man Cave, the VTR is still the favourite.

Enjoy the Bird, but ride the Storm!

finally managed to remove the chain from the silver bike, thoroughly cleaned it, smothered it in chain lubricant, massaged it, hoping to work out any tight spots, i'm now in two minds whether to refit it, or soak it over night in old engine oil, would that do it any harm, or would it help with the lubing process?
i'm about to refit the undertray and a few other jobs. before heading off to work..... :(

I still love the vtr and its v2 grunt kennie I just needed a change for a road bike .
The only bike I've ever regretted parting with was my blade (95) but wanted something a little bigger and road orientated and it had to be a Honda .

I've started to collect parts I need for the vtr and hope to have it ready for the track come next spring ,
I can't see it going on the road tho .
I'm really loving the bird and I haven't regretted parting with Kermit once yet .

Today I fitter 2x cree projectors under the chin to give off a little more day time light as the nobs in cars keep pulling out on me , this never happened with the vtr !.
I have my gopro mounted on the front now so next time I'll chop them in one way or another:-@.
Oh and gave it a wash too :-)

I bet the bird doesn't part the waves like the burbling vtr does, I followed a blade whilst filtering on the motorway, no one could hear it, they only moved when I came up behind it..... :flasher:

I'd move if I seen a hgv filtering !!

The bird has standard exhaust fitted at the moment.
I can't wait to get a full akrapovic fitted and some air horns lol .
It's one thing I miss about the vtr is the sound , just just don't get any better than a v2 with open cans at 3k boom boom boom boom. Boom boom

You can't really go by the plugs unless you ride it at a constant rpm that you want to check ,then shut it off and pull the plugs

That's fair enough, pulls noticeably harder now, about 5000 revs
