I can't wait to get a full akrapovic fitted and some air horns lol .
It's one thing I miss about the vtr is the sound , just just don't get any better than a v2 with open cans at 3k boom boom boom boom. Boom boom
Lloydie I have a Nautilus Horn if your interested.

Bought it years ago to fit to 'Ole Red but never fitted it due to size.

As you can see it's a big lump...

I'll test it prior to sending if your interested, It was working fine & is bloody loud ! But it has been sitting in the Cave for a long time hence the test.

I'll happily send it up to you if you want to test fit it...

Open to a sensible offer...?

That's huge Mac . The only place that could be mounted on any bike is behind the rear mud guard .
I'll have a think ! Thanks Mac

i'm about to refit the undertray and a few other jobs. before heading off to work..... :(
soak it in paraffin Marty, Wash off and then lube it.

I ended up degreasing the chain with surfex hd, the smothered the hell out of it with a chan of chain lube that mac gave me for nothing a year or so ago. worked the links back and forth if they were tight and then refitted it, i ran it in first gear on the abba stand, and it sounded ok, I won't know for sure until the morning when I run it round the block. :eh:

what have you done to your "bike" today

Post by lloydie »

Had a interesting ride to work this morning in the wet !.

Head butted a pheasant at 50mph .the silly thing was on the left side of the road and walking to the other side , so I moved over to the left expecting it to run in its current direction, but no as I got within 20 metres it turns and jumps up to fly off but directly into my path . I slam on the brakes but not enough .
So now I'm face to face with it and I try to duck down but it still hits me in the forehead .
I keep the bike and myself stable and carry on to work .

One mile later the bike cut out like its ran out of fuel but the gauge was showing half a tank , luckily I was on a one mile down hill stretch of road .
I kept it rolling , tried popping the clutch but wouldn't start ,
Tried the choke but still wouldn't start .
As I'm getting closer to the bottom of the hill , still a bit dazed from the pheasant it dawned on me to take the keys out and open then tank (whitest still rolling)
I opened the tank cap and I'll I heard was pisssss !.
Closed the tank and put the keys back in the ignition and turned it on.
Pressed the starter and it started first tap !.
I knew then the tank breather pipe was blocked .
Luckily I was only 2 miles from work and it made it there ok without cutting out again .

I checked the breather pipe when I got to work and it was blocked with old chain lube and water .
Only a pin size hole left clear ,so very easy for it to get blocked.
I cleaned it out for now till I get home and route it somewhere else .

Best thing about it tho !, I had my gopro running so its all on video .
