Will do when ive finished it. For me its about pain reduction, nothing else. I struggle for more than 1.5 hours now on the VTR where I can ride the Bandit all day. I did 400ks on the Bandit today and feel fine. I want to be able to take the VTR on long runs, kenmoore wrote:N.Z

You know the other bikes I ride, and to be honest I find my 05 Storm very comfortable compared to the Tuono!
Lately lots of folks are talking about risers and flat bars however I can't imagine my Storm with risers or flat bars.
Just curious to see what all the fuss is about and why people change their Storms!

O.K,
I can understand that .
I am lucky, at 58 I suffer no ailments that interfere with my bikes.
I reckon it's because I have been a very keen surfer ever since I was 12 years old.
Surfing is my first passion , closely followed by bikes.
Show us what you do, and I hope it works for you.
I couldn't stand another stalwart defecting and selling their VTR.

Only cosmetic, its plenty fast enough for me. I need a belly pan as it collect crap at the front end terribly. I may get a steering damper too as it does waggle when you tramp on. not bad but as you know the Storms track pretty straight and don't flap much. This turns far quicker but waggles at speed. First time i got up to high speeds ( on a private road uhhum! )i crapped myself. Used to it now, but its a possible option.

BTT,
I noticed a marked improvement with the Tuono when I dropped the front to three rings showing.
The front wasn't so twitchy when on the gas after doing that.
Maybe that will help you. I really notice the lack of weight over the front wheel compared to the way the Storm is set up.

Took mine for a little blast down the village shop today. Haven't ridden it in about 2 weeks so it put a grin on my face. And I was in my croks with no socks, and a t-shirt

Iam fettling every time i go out. It does lift easy thats for sure. Ive softned up the rear shock a bit, it was like a brick. Much better on my trip home. I don't have rings on this you just turn fully out for soft then wind in to stiffen up.

I decided it was time for a new chain and sprockets, so I stripped off the left muffler and the footpeg mount, then pulled the old chain off without breaking it. Funny, I'm sure I could do the same on my VFR800 but it never occurred to me. I do like the ease of riveting the new chain on a work bench rather than hunched over on the floor. I just need to clear out some garage space so I can string-align the back wheel tonight.
Once fitted up I was delighted in the smooth, greasy feel of the new metal. One thing I did notice however was that when rocking the back wheel back and forth in gear with the engine off, I can hear a clanking sort of sound coming from the clutch area. It's nothing to do with the final drive or gearbox play, sounds in my imagination like maybe the clutch or water-pump drive has some slop in it. Do they all sound like that? I can hear a rattly sort of sound at idle (which did not change when I removed the OEM CCT's and fitted MCCTs) and I have checked the valve timing and re-shimmed the valves but again no change. Bike runs like a good'un so I'm not concerned just curious.

Modified my Paddock stand this morning so that i can use it with the SSSA. Front stands still fits so a good result. I can now leave the stand connected, roll it off, move the bike out of the garage with the stand in place and then pop it back up when on the drive. I must remember to remove it before hitting the twisties though.

BTT,
You can still drop the forks, all you have to do is take some careful measurements to make sure that the legs protrude through the top clamp evenly.
I tried all sorts of adjustments on the Tuono and whilst there was an improvement it just wasn't right until I dropped the forks an extra ring.
I like to ride the front wheel and the only way to get that feel was to lower the forks. It is a very common adjustment with the Tuono, especially if you like to crack on, bloody thing still wobbles a bit during quick transitions under hard acceleration but I am getting used to it. Also am finding the upright position makes it hard to load up the front end as well so the fork settings have and are a critical part of me enjoying the bike.

I had the same issue when mine was a tuono. I could never get the front tyre warm let alone hot. Best this I found was to turn it into a millekenmoore wrote:BTT,
