Engine's in, heads on, timed and filled with oil, but during the week I'll get coolant in ex system on and coolant pipework so that I can start her up.

This evening I've flattened a battery priming it with oil, and making sure it's got to all of the new bearing surfaces before firing it up. Always worth it, i feel, and easier than cranking it over by hand for ten minutes.

But I won't be going far until the refurbed radial MC arrives back, Jonesy is working his usual miracle on it atm. It would be nice to have brakes that feel as though they're going to stop me...

I'm beginning to look forward to testing this build out, with the oversized inlet valves, high comps, etc, etc, it should go ok. Hopefully I can get some time into jetting before heading down to Devon.

Green stuffs available if you need it Tony.

That time of year to get in to check the swingarm & shock linkage bearings. Also going to replace exhaust headers and downpipes, and replace with refurbished newly painted subframes front and rear. General degrease and deep-clean and replace rusty nuts and stuff.

Oil change and filter done, K&N cleaned and reoiled.

Washed it after an epic day of 411 miles. went to Dorset, devon somerset Wiltshire Avon Bath then bristol and then home. No motorways and a great day. Changing down at 8000rpm to try the pick up, bloody great. Had a Z1000 behind for a bit, but he dropped off on some sweepy roundabouts nr Dorchester. got to an indicated 143 ( private bit obviously) and it was not too bad hanging on. The screen certainly makes a difference.
