Washed it, (Thread back on track!!!). Altered the Handlebar position a tad and fitted my Optimate leads. Ride out to work tomorrow. Yahoody.

Rode it to work today and met an FZ1 on the roundabout, we had a blast up the bypass, he was a tad in front to start but the CB never tailed by much. i hit 143 ( we both knew the road etc ) and was a bit behind, he started to pull away about 135 odd etc. What a blast though. Iam looking forward to meeting him on the twisty bits next time. FZ1 ,s do go well but that exhaust looks butt. We had a as we slowed down.

Still think the CB looks the dogs though. Oh how you get dragged along eh!!!

no lectures on speed pls, no junctions on the road, high banks either side etc

Nice one BTT, doesn't mater how old we get, the bike will still make you act like a 16yr old

Took it for a spin just to warm it up, 1/2 hour out turned around (only coz it started bloody raining... ) came home...

& changed the oil & fillter...

Pottered around in the MacCave, sorting a few bits out inc a new to me CD/MD/Radio picked up off Gumtree for a score ...

Had another good wet ride today to and from work and popped in to see Mrs amcq just a shame Mr amcq was there :-(

Swapped the sh**ty RH fairing , fitted a repaired one in better condition (thanks for the repairs steve)
Gave the bike a check over, fired her up for the first time in 2 weeks (work does get in the way of fun)
The bike had a wash
Looking forward to a (dry) run out tomorrow

Still deep cleaning - Highly recommend this stuff > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-Carplan-T ... 20db36a2fd as its solvent based rather than the modern wishy-washy watery type engine degreasers. Brush it on and work it in with a paintbrush/toothbrush and then simply wash off.

Got the swingarm out and inspected the linkage bearings after having refurbished it in 2008 (about 30,000* miles ago). Half of them are shagged again - bugger. Thanfully got a spare linkage handy and will reassemble with Kluber grease as recommended by bigtwinthing

Alo while the shock is out I'll be bimbling up to http://ftrsuspension.co.uk to get it serviced.

* Total milage on the bike is 65,000 - so will look at doing it about every 15,000 miles.

Bloody hell-fire. That Car Plan degreaser is potent stuff. It's even dissolved yer numberplate details.

Got the engine running at last today. Sounds ok, but then I haven't heard it running for two months.
Played with jetting, four setups.
The rear needs a much richer setup than the front- 50 vs 45 pilots, and 188 instead of 178 mains.
It seemed at bit more of a difference than I expected, but then I found that the vac tee-off for the Scottoiler wasn't connected......Back to square one.
I ended up with a reasonable af ratio on both at tickover/blipping the throttle, but we'll see what the Lambda display tells me when I ride it- eventually.

I reassembled the clutch lever, and it's solid. Slave cylinder seem ok, so it'll be something amiss with the clutch side. I'll have to drain coolant and take the cover off and have a look.

Jonesy has sent me back the radial MC I run, and that's now bolted up but I haven't tried bleeding it in as yet.

One fork leg seal was weeping, and so when I took it apart a few weeks ago I stuck a new seal in.
It's bloody weeping again, and it's only been pushed out of the garage and back in again.

So I'm thoroughly fed up with it, I'll look at it again in a couple of weeks next time I get a day off.
If it gets done before Devon I'll be there, otherwise I'll try to get it finished and running in time for Wales.

I'm getting bloody close to breaking the heap of shite and buying an SP2. I just want to know what it runs like with the oversize inlets and ram air.
