what have you done to your "bike" today

Took her for a ride with the new T30 tyres. Never had a bike with Bridgestone tyres.

I'm on my second set of Bridgestone Battlax T30s (got the latest T30 Evos fitted on 25th June '15).

As you will find, these are SUPERB tyres, they heat up mega quick (under a 1/2 mile), are excellent in the wet, and I've had more confidence on these tyres than any others I've had on previous bikes. For the firestorm, to me, I don't think I'd have any other tyre fitted. My last set of T30s on the Storm got a phenomenal mileage (well over 9000 miles) riding at all levels.

Enjoy them....I know you will! And I bet you write back telling us that yer riding confidence is improved when throwing it into corners. "They stick like sh1t to a blanket" is what Bridgestone should put on their sales pitch.

Fitted my new fairing indicators ( Trik Moto) Rubbish, Too small (even though they were supposidley for a Firestorm)
then refitted the old ones

Ain't so bad when you get out on them eh. I haven't ridden mine since Devon Storm, haven't wanted to, I know I'll enjoy it when I do but bought my VFR back home yesterday and I'm looking forward to a ride on that next..

Took an experimental ride with my new (old) Ohlins shock. This has a small clunk sound coming from the seal head but I did inspect it thoroughly and was confident that it wasn't going to fail on me. What a revelation after the standard shock! Lovely supple Swedishness, and really complimented the revalved and re-sprung fork. I was enjoying it all so much that I rode through nearly two tanks of fuel!

I ended up riding to Port Waikato, and then down to Nikau Caves on a part sealed, part gravel road. The VTR made a reasonable job as an ADV bike, lovely and tractable at 2-3000rpm. I stopped at a remote corner, for a little break and a photo op. While I was stopped, two cars drove by, both caring souls stopped to check that I was OK. How nice is that?



Time now to take the Ohlins to my suspension expert for a little TLC.

That's bloody good for an old Bird, I'd pretty much leave well alone there, if it's only a little lean it'll be ok, only thing I can think of is possibly raise the needles to see if it fills the small hole, but doubt that shows much on the road. Overall impressive

Finally cleaned and oiled the air filter eh lloydie also fitted 6 mm spacer couldn't believe the difference it has made to the handling however forks still feel funny so racetech springs and a fork rebuild kit on the way this afternoon took out and enjoyed better handling bike

Tbh I'm happy with it and don't need to mess with it ,but I will :-) ,
Lift the needles a washer then leave it be ,
The Dyno guy said the same about lifting the needles :-) .

I took the Superhawk/Fire Storm out yesterday. I have been avoiding getting out due to the freaking heat. In my younger days I was fine with it but now I just want to sit inside in front of the AC and drink iced drinks. But, yes I did get it out and as always it is so impressive. I put a few miles on her and then topped the tank up. The biggest issue of the day was my road. The country came along and ran a grader down it and dumped a few loads of want was supposed to be rock. It turns out it was more the consistency of baby powder. It's like riding in powdered sugar. It's horrible stuff and the bike looks terrible. I must clean the chain. Aha the joys of dirt road living!
