Covered 110 miles, mostly country twisties with a couple of towns. Feels so odd after being on the big bird. The mille made me feel big as the bike felt tiny. It is so much better in the bends and it's good having it trying to snap my neck in half under acceleration. Found myself dragging my knee round bends and generally having a good blast.

Loads of bikes out today but none of them wanted to play :( found alot of them to be pompous gits though as pretty much all of them I gave a nod and I only got 3 back. Must have seen at least 50 other bikers. What's wrong with people these days?!

Other than that a great day out and well needed

They knew it was you...
So that's why they didn't play. They were too worried about me crashing and wiping them out

did another 230 miles today, met a Guy with an SP2. He didn't even know about this forum. The bike went so well and sounded amazing with Zard cans, really small jobbies and his mate made the links. Sorry no phone with me today i left it at work friday.

Lots of speed cameras about though.

A coulple of weeks ago I purchased a ''work bench'' via Gumtree faily local to me & cheap !

It's a kit type one but is fairly substantial, I snaffled a 2 ton rated trolly jack off the bay new for less than £20 posted & finished it off with a wheel chock. Half price as the wonderfull GMB insisted on paying half of it... Superstar ( must remember to take lube if I ever vist him, I think I'll need it...  )

All in just under £100 not bad.

Spent yesterday cleaning it up, bit of surface rust on the un-painted steel, gave it a coat of Zinc undercoat.

To day after some modding to the locking pin holes & drilling some extra holes, got it moved into the cave & bolted on the wheel chock.

Still need to have a good tidy & ruthless toot out in the cave but gave up after putting Smokin Joe up on the ramp as it was 83* in the MacCave.

All in all quite happy with my purchase's.

Hmm. I wonder who this mysterious GMB is? Sounds like a decent bloke, despite what everyone else on the forum calls him.

As for needing lube should you ever visit? Ooooh! I'm gonna get my moneys worth out of you sunbeam! Don't you worry about that!

You won't be able to walk straight for a week after I've finished.

Mac, how does that work with just one jack? More photos please.
Would love something like that.

The jack is just to lift it Stu there are to sliding bars at the sides with holes for saftey D-pins that lock it off. I may use axle stands under the cross member as added security...

I'll take some more snaps so you can see it better but it'll be tomorrow...

I've been looking for one for a while but they tend to go for silly money on the bay or are too far away...even the cheapest new ones are £250+ & as MalcoPop pointed out unless you pay the big money for the scissor type ones they can be a bit wobbly...

This one is built like the 4th Road Bridge ...

Rode it from Hertford to Ware, where I picked up a rear wheel puncture. Pish! Blue Transit van stops to ask if I'm ok then offers to stick the bike in the back of his van for me. On opening the back he discovered he'd left his ramp at his workshop. Bless his cotton socks he went back to the garage and came back to load the bike on for me. Turns out the guy manages a privateer team in BSB running a 2009 R1.
Got home and I had to twist his arm to take a drink for his help. What a star.

Changed the fork seals and bushes fitted a fork brace and taper roller bearings racetech springs ain't arrived yet so originals back in but doesn't feel quite as weird now the old taper roller bottom race was indented so that probably had an effect rides a lot better now lloydie :D :D

Not perfect but certainly not as weird as I said the old bottom taper race was indented so that may have been cause hopefully the racetech springs will perfect it
