Still looks pretty good from where I'm sitting....

Ok, in reality it may take the skin off my hands if I run me fingers across it the wrong way.....but....from this angle and in this light.......'tis not bad at all!

New chain and sprockets fitted today. Thought I'd be clever and rivet the chain on the bike. Save taking a load of bits off. Took at least three times as long. Getting the side plate started on the pins was the most difficult bit. Getting the plate on at the correct clearance was a pig as well. So much easier on the bench.

Shame yours didn't hold together longer. We could have given you a demonstration.
All you need is the right size hammer and a small spanner.

and "NO" I'm not calling fabio a spanner!

I had similar problems, my first go I put the side plate on slightly to tight one side and eventually the seal squeezed out slightly,
so I did it again with another link and verniered the width and got it pretty much spot on, and the seals stay in

I messed up my first one as well, went too tight and it was noticeably stiffer. I got to the point where it was spot on, then gave it a bit more for the sake of it

Not touched it for a week now ,
Should get time to tomorrow as I need a fix !
get stuck in mate.
I've done a bit today, but my wrist was bloody sore when I finished.
filled and rubbed down the filler again, keyed the paint and removed the firestorm decal, before priming. just got to get some 2000 grit wet n dry, and wait for the paint to arrive, bloody tricky doing every thing left handed tho, I even managed to tart up my damaged c/f engine cover.

Take your time with it especially as it's yellow as it's a pain in the butt to get the depth of colour right

Not really today, more last weekend.... Got rid of the Renthal handlebars that have been on there since I got it. Replaced with some old Fireblade clip-ons as it has a very early 'blade fork on it. Handling feels better and less wheelie prone at the same throttle but damn they are low (non-standard top yoke means they sit lower)and hard on the wrists. They are staying but maybe some thought required....

Fitted a "Loobman" chain oiler and (keep it quiet, don't tell anyone) the standard end cans. I have to get it quiet for a test I'm doing. I bought "DB killers" at great expense but the things don't fit unless I take the cans apart and attack everything with a grinder. I found some virtually spotless standard pipes on eBay for £30 (including postage) so I should have gone down that route in the first place. It does sound clattery without the open pipes though.

Out for a test now. If I don't come back you know it all went to pot!

Went out & rode it around the wilds of Kent...

Parked up & stood around at the side of the road for over two hours...

Just waiting...

Image

Displying over Headcorn, coudn't be arsed to pay to go in to the show, so rode around the back roads till I found a spot to park up...About 1/2 a dozen other cars were already there with the same idea as me...by the time it flew over there must have been at least 50 cars parked up...

It flew right over us a couple of times the last one it went vertical on full power & rolled over at the top of the climb...The bloody noise ! You know it's loud when your chest wall is vibrating...

Sooooper, thobbing, proper bloody heavy metal...well worth the waiting around for.

The best for last...
