Got bored waiting for Postman so, (OOooo knock knock at the door! Arata's :Dancing: ) That's creepy!...........

Please note sunshine makes the bike look dirty and shows all the imperfections..

Had no problems, used hair spray to help slide them on. The only bit I was unsure about was where to place the raised pattern in grip. I decided the palm of my hands, as most my weight is on there and it felt comfortable. :)

Slight sticky throttle at first, but a bit of WD soon sorted that out.

Off to open this big box then :Dancing:

Are you trying to reduce your radar profile Marty :D

Well my plan for tonight was to fix the snapped lug on the back end plastic (yup, one on the bottom), and reinforce the other which I repaired many years ago... Except having washed the back end in the sink, I can't find where I put the snapped off bit!

Grrrrr! I would have put it somewhere safe, you know how it is, but it's *too* safe!

:wtf:

Why would covering that puny 10th of a candle power side light be dangerous?

You didn't use your headlight at all on Saturdays run & the side light just can't be seen.

If you want to be seen for safety reasons ride with your headlight on. Oh & buy a day glo jacket.

Mac...being sensible for a change.

When I finished work and got home I put my leathers and lid on then went into the garage .
Key in ignition switched it on , hit the start button - not a thing happened .
Dead battery :( .
Rolled it to the car hooked you jump leads and hit the started again , it lives
.multi meter out and test the battery
12.5 volts picked the revs up to 2000rpm 12.1 volts then put the lights on 11volts that confirmed it r/r buggered
. A quick phone call to a mate who brakes bike and off I go to pick up a replacement Yamaha r1 regulator
. Got back home fitted it ,started it up checked it 14volts yay fixed .

i think either the headlight bulb has gone mac, or the 3 pin connector has come loose. i'll have a look at it tomorrow, the headlight protector and wrapped sidelight are just for fun, not for road use officer honest....

Got mine motted.

Bugger stuck one of those annoying little round reflectors on it, didn't charge me for it though as I kept badgering him to book an afternoon's dyno time for me to test some new parts.
At least he didn't make me change the loud cans for some std ones for the MOT, wasting an hour changing them on and off; as I usually have to.

Apparently the front Braking wave discs are as good as he's seen on the brake tester, which bears out what I felt on the road.
Shame about the back, but as I pointed out, who can use it when it's a foot up in the air?

BSM if you get the Factory Pro kit, you could follow this http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=14214 and do it yourself

Obviously nicer weather where you are! Down here it pissed down with rain this afternoon and left the roads covered in puddles.

Oh well, it's not like my damn battery has arrived anyway... So I'm doing the following:

- Repairing the broken off lug on the rear plastic (missing bit finally located, and taped safely to the inside of the plastic so I can't lose it again).
- Working out my wiring for the 5v supply and USB plug to go under the seat so I can charge my phone up as I'm zooming down the road. Will also look at how I can provide a USB socket up front to power the phone when I use it as a sat nav in the top of the tank bag without everything looking a mess.
