Finished spraying colour on the race fairings for the ZXR.
2k scratch resistant clear next, then I can get them on the bike.
Used enough masking tape, fine line tape and paper to fill 2 bin bags.

Nice...
I this a new trend I see ?
As it's de rigueur to have a bin of some discription in the pic's of your bike maybe this will catch on with pic's of bits.
Your bathroom in the background, come on get snapping folks...

She runs! And sounds lovely. No leaks. Took her up to a temperature just below the red line before I realised I'd forgotten to reconnect the rad fan (Doh!).
Cosmetics next. Hugger on order, a few cracks in the plastics then..... more fixings, hydraulic lines, forks, shock etc.... etc.

Italian bikes! My old Duke just will not idle reliably. Sometimes it does, sometimes it just stalls. Usually when I've got a long line of traffic behind me, at a roundabout or such like. You can try and keep the revs up all the time but sometimes even that doesn't work. More than that it's not just a matter of prodding the button. You have to switch off, take the key out, put the key back in, turn it on, wait for it to go through it's self check sequence... Then. Sometimes. It starts.
Going through the forums someone said it's sometimes the earth connection to the crankcase. So I checked it. Cleaner and more shiny than a very clean and shiny thing. But, since I had it apart some wet n dry and contact cleaner was applied. Went for another ride. Would it stall? Would it feck. Solid idle just under 1k. I might even keep the damn thing.

Cleaned up me new Brombo's & the mounting plates...
Took several winters worth of crud of a carbon M/G I got from Jonesey last week...
Made some strap rubbers for the Mori can hangers as they didn't have any...
OK when I said made I meant I took some that I had in the stash & cut them down to fit...
The Mori straps are quite narrow & two per can, the ones I had were from some Vipers I have & cut in half are just about wide enough...Result.
