Oh yes many many times ,unless you take it for a Dyno tune and let them do it ?.

Tempting but I like tinkering, I also like whinging about it when it gets difficult

on unmodified engine, I would start with Fpro needles - clip on the top both (leanest setting), main jets 178+180 or 180+182 with aftermarket filter, and 48 pilots. That should give you good start, and try to tune pilot jets screws if you have problems till 5k rpm.mellis wrote:Tempting but I like tinkering, I also like whinging about it when it gets difficult
My experience is, that these needles work well only with clips on the top or one slot down.

Thanks mate, that sounds like a great starter for ten!Stephan wrote:on unmodified engine, I would start with Fpro needles - clip on the top both (leanest setting), main jets 178+180 or 180+182 with aftermarket filter, and 48 pilots. I'm on a stock air filter but the cans seem to be very free flowing so will go with 180 front and a 182 rear. Will also try the first slot down and then work the pilot circuit to see if I can iron out any glitches.

with paper filter, I ran 178+180 with Dr Honda Stacks and full exhaust system. And it was not too lean :-)mellis wrote:Thanks mate, that sounds like a great starter for ten!Stephan wrote:on unmodified engine, I would start with Fpro needles - clip on the top both (leanest setting), main jets 178+180 or 180+182 with aftermarket filter, and 48 pilots. 178, 180 will be my first shot then. Second increment down on needles or first?
Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
