I made the rookie mistake of changing two things on the FP carb kit, changed mains and needle position. Bike ran like sh1t so had to guess which one of my corrections was the wrong one! Guessed it was needle position which was correct  Now running nicely and doesn't stink of petrol every time you come to a stop!

Decided to give the storm a fire up. Flat battery, goddam data tool I'm assuming. Charged battery, bike started well.

Tried cr carbs for size on "rusty", my second gpz500 project. Will need a direct fuel tap as there ain't any vac take off and besides, the diaphragm casting on the original tap is fouling on the carb. Look the biz, although I only went for slide carbs as I wanted to ditch the airbox and these bikes don't take kindly to tampering with the airbox. My first gpz project still uses the stock airbox, but this compromised the overall look.

Did some more filing, drilling and tapping. Making a battery housing. The main structure of the new subframe is rough cut and assembled but loads o filing still to do.

If the storm proves to tickle my fancy as much I think it will, then, I'm sorry chaps but the plastic is going. Life's too short to be stuck behind a plastic screen. I guess I'll be lynched for saying that, right?

Steamed in to the Bannana Crumble...Swapped the rear wheel as the tyre on it needs changing. Had a spare with a tyre so I can still wheel it around.

Removed the Leo Vince cans & links, had to cut the clamps off so out with the dremmel...

Cleaned up the inside of the swinger as it was minging !

Changed the brake fluid as it was black & thought while its empty...whip off the callipers & give them a good scrub...

Oil and filter on the MTS. Drained the old oil cold. It looked like tar. Put fresh cheap oil in and warmed the bike up. Then dumped that oil and replaced with Castrol Power1 and a HiFlo filter.

Now to adjust the chain....not. The O/S eccentric clamp bolt is solid. It should have been greased and then tightened to 30Nm. 13mm socket with bar, no. Add extension, no, hammer, no. Longer extension and the socket slips on the head.... elbow elbow elbow. Not an easy place to get heat into. I can see a visit to the local Ducrapi dealer is coming up. If they bugger the bolt it's down to them. Had a nice test ride tho.
